National Prep Schools’ Cross-Country Championships 2025

On Sunday our fantastic U11 boys’ team competed at the National Prep Schools' Cross-Country Championships. Our young runners proudly represented St Francis School, displaying remarkable determination, athleticism, and sportsmanship in what is an event that attracts schools from all over the country.

Our team of Bertie, Levi, Ruaraidh and Ralph ran with heart and spirit through a challenging course. They had to negotiate a tricky start with so many competitors jostling for the best line to attack the initial incline to then gain some space to get into their stride. It was then the opportunity to attack the rest of the course which in total was 2600m.

Bertie secured an impressive 26th place in 10:55, Levi came 68th in 11:27, Ruaraidh 150th in 12:18 and Ralph 167th in 12:28 all demonstrating exceptional skill and stamina. These placings were achieved with a total of 208 competitors in their race.

These individual results meant that the St Francis team came 3rd overall out of 11 schools who competed in the Small Schools’ event which is a fantastic achievement

Well done to all our boys for their outstanding performances and to the parents who brought them and encouraged them to do so well.
