We are delighted to announce that several talented students from St Francis School were recognised at this year’s Oexmann Art Awards, hosted by the Wiltshire Museum. With over 230 entries from young artists across the region, the competition was intense, but our students’ talent and creativity set them apart.
Outstanding Achievements in the 2D Art Category (Ages 12-18)
In the 12-18 age category, Nell G won First Prize for her piece Self Portrait - Girl with the New Earring. This stunning self-portrait captivated the judges with its technical skill and emotional depth, showcasing Nell’s impressive artistic maturity. Alongside her, Kaspar B and Priya were both Highly Commended for their untitled pieces, demonstrating a unique artistic voice and refined style.
Mrs Parkes, Head of Art & Design Technology, shared her admiration: “I am incredibly proud of Nell, Kaspar, and Priya. Their dedication to their craft is evident in the quality of their work, and it’s wonderful to see their talent recognised at such a prestigious competition. Each of them has a unique perspective that makes their art truly special.”
Exceptional Work in the 3D Art Category
In the 3D Art category, Polly K and Emma H were awarded Joint First Prize for their outstanding pieces. Polly’s work, Oxeye Nicotiana Anemone, and Emma’s untitled piece both exhibited a high level of craftsmanship and creative vision, impressing the judges with their attention to detail and intricate designs.
