Girls Football Success!

Yesterday was a thrilling day for our U10/U11 girls football team as they took part in an exciting tournament hosted by Moyles Court. The girls played with immense skill, determination, and energy, ultimately finishing as runners-up after an outstanding series of matches. The team won all their games before drawing in their final match against Durlston Court, who narrowly claimed the top spot on goal difference.

From the very first whistle, our girls were unstoppable, showing great teamwork, tactical awareness, and a relentless attacking spirit. Special mentions must go to Edie and Elsa, whose brilliant goal-scoring abilities helped propel the team forward in each match. Both players found the back of the net multiple times, driving the team’s incredible momentum throughout the tournament.

Mrs Belsey, Girls Games coach, couldn’t have been prouder of the girls’ performances. Reflecting on their efforts, she said:

"The girls were absolutely fantastic today. Their energy never wavered, even in the toughest moments. They worked so hard for each other and really deserved all their wins. To finish as runners-up on goal difference against older teams is an incredible achievement. I’m so proud of their determination and the way they played with heart and passion from start to finish."

This was especiallyy impressive as our mixed side, who played their first-ever tournament together, faced strong competition from older U11 teams, they held their own, showing courage and great potential in their matches. This experience will be invaluable for their development as a team, and we’re excited to see how they grow in future competitions.

Overall, it was a day to remember, full of remarkable performances and outstanding team spirit. Congratulations to all our players for representing the school so brilliantly and showing what they’re capable of on the football field!

Special thanks to our hosts, Moyles Court, and to Durlstonfor the competitive and exciting final game. We’re already looking forward to the next tournament!
