Pinewood Fencing Success

The St Francis fencers have been on point as well as “en guarde” this term as they have walked away from the first competition of the term with no fewer than 5 medals, including 3 golds.

At the Pinewood Championship this weekend, the St Francis fencers performed in a variety of disciplines and across the age groups, fencing with their peers from other schools in the local area.

Head of St Francis, David Lee, said “It is brilliant to see our pupils go out and represent their school in any sport, but those fixtures which take place during “free time” always highlight the dedication and determination of our pupils to do their best. The fencing this weekend was exceptional, and I am so proud of all of our pupils, not just for their skills in their matches, but the sportsmanship they showed when not fencing too. My thanks also to Neil Bromley, fencing coach extraordinaire, for leading our young fencers so well.”

St Francis is a leading prep school, on a 17 acre site in the heart of the Pewsey Vale. Priding itself on its family feel, St Francis also encourages pupils in a myriad of endeavours and secures excellent outcomes for leavers.
