Nell, who is currently a Senior Pupil at the Pewsey-based Prep School entered the Creative Arts section of the Devizes Eisteddfod having been encouraged to do so by her Head of Creative Arts, Jo Parkes.

Nell submitted a strikingly modern self-portrait, painted in Gouache, which impressed the judges so much that Nell was awarded the Senior Art Cup. Not only was Nell up against her peers in Year 7, but also pupils all the way up to 18 and adults too!

Head of Art at St Francis, Jo Parkes, explained “This is an outstanding achievement by Nell; to win Senior Art Cup the first year she was eligible to enter it is no mean feat. Nell is an exceptionally talented artist, and I have no doubt that we will continue to see more, and better, artworks as Nell’s skills increase.”

Nell is currently working on her Art Scholarship portfolio which includes pieces influenced by David Hockney, and for which Headmaster David Lee has sat.
