Scholarship for Head Boy
The Head Boy at St Francis has reason to celebrate this week after being awarded a highly-coveted Sports Scholarship to prestigious Wiltshire-based independent school, Warminster School.
Jack, a pupil at the prep school situated in the picturesque Pewsey Vale, was elected Head Boy at the end of the last academic year, after a vote by the teachers showed him to the clear winner when considering leadership, reliability and dependence to do the right thing.
Following an assessment at the private Warminster School, Jack’s sporting excellence was recognised with the impressive award.
Director of Sport at St Francis Pewsey, Kevan Brown, enthused “Jack is a natural, and talented, sportsman who marries grit and determination to do well with an impressive sense of team. Jack will always work with his peers to get the best possible outcome in any sporting arena. I think it is testament to Jack’s unassuming popularity that his year group were genuinely thrilled that he had been awarded this scholarship.”
Jack, who has been at St Francis since he was young, said “I will be sad to leave St Francis, but as it is the end of Year 8 this was always going to happen. My sadness though is overshadowed by my excitement to join Warminster School, where I hope I will be able to contribute to school life in the same way.”
