Celebrating Alumna Tara's Incredible Rowing Success

We are delighted to share the inspiring achievements of one of our alumnae, Tara, who has continued to make waves in the world of competitive rowing. Tara's journey, which began right here at St Francis, has reached new heights this summer, as she proudly represented Great Britain at the Coupe de la Jeunesse regatta in the Czech Republic.

Tara and her team not only won gold in the Women's 8+ category but also set a new world best time, a tremendous accomplishment that speaks to her dedication, hard work, and talent. Competing on such a prestigious international stage is a remarkable achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder of Tara’s success and her contribution to the team’s incredible performance.

Reflecting on her achievements, Tara was kind enough to credit St Francis for being a crucial part of her early development. "I further went on to win gold, with a new world best time for Great Britain in the Women's 8+ at the Coupe de la Jeunesse regatta in the Czech Republic this summer! Further credit to starting my journey at St Francis," she shared with us.

Tara's commitment and passion for rowing have also opened up new opportunities for her future. We are thrilled to announce that she has earned a rowing scholarship to Boston University, starting in September 2025. This prestigious scholarship will allow her to continue pursuing her sporting ambitions while benefiting from a world-class education at a leading institution in the United States.

Tara's story is a shining example of where dedication and determination can take you, and it’s a testament to the well-rounded foundation that St Francis aims to provide for all our pupils. We hope that Tara's success will inspire our current students to dream big and to pursue their passions with the same drive and enthusiasm.

From all of us at St Francis, congratulations, Tara! We wish you all the best in your future endeavours, both on the water and in your studies, and we look forward to seeing what you achieve next.
