Celebrating Achievements at Our Junior Duke Party
Last Friday, St Francis School was filled with joy and pride as we celebrated the achievements of our Junior Duke participants with a special end-of-week party. This event marked the culmination of months of hard work and dedication from our pupils in Years 3-6, who took part in the Junior Duke programme - a scheme designed to foster independence, resilience, and creativity amongst our young learners.
The Junior Duke program offers a range of activities and challenges tailored to different age groups, aiming to develop essential life skills and encouraging personal growth. Pupils engage in a variety of tasks such as learning basic first aid, cooking a simple meal, undertaking a community service project, and mastering a new sport or hobby. These activities are designed not only to build practical skills but also to instill a sense of achievement and self-confidence.
Special recognition goes to Elodie T, who was the first pupil to complete her Junior Duke award back in March. Her dedication and enthusiasm set a remarkable example for her peers.
Mrs Parkes, who runs the Junior Duke program at St Francis, expressed her pride in the pupils' accomplishments. "Seeing the pupils embrace the challenges and grow through the Junior Duke program has been incredibly rewarding. Their determination and willingness to step out of their comfort zones have been inspiring. Each pupil has shown tremendous growth, and it has been a joy to support them on this journey."
Headmaster Mr Lee also praised the pupils' efforts, stating, "The Junior Duke program is a fantastic initiative that complements our educational ethos at St Francis. It encourages our pupils to develop a broad range of skills and fosters a sense of independence and responsibility. I am immensely proud of all the participants, especially Elodie T, for her outstanding achievement. The dedication and hard work demonstrated by our pupils are truly brilliant."
The Junior Duke party was a fitting tribute to the hard work and perseverance of our young achievers; celebrating their accomplishments and also highlighting the supportive and nurturing environment that St Francis School provides, enabling pupils to thrive and succeed.
Congratulations to all our Junior Duke participants—you have made us incredibly proud!
