St Francis is Hoodwinked!
Last Thursday, the Hemery Hall buzzed with excitement as pupils, parents, and staff gathered for the highly anticipated Year 5 and 6 production of Hoodwinked. This delightful musical comedy, which gives a humorous and fresh twist to the classic Robin Hood tale, was a testament to the hard work and talent of our students.
Our year 6 pupils took on the main roles, portraying the legendary characters of Robin Hood, Maid Marian, the Sheriff of Nottingham, and others with remarkable skill and enthusiasm. Their performances were both captivating and engaging, drawing the audience into the world of Sherwood Forest with ease. Complementing them were the Year 5 pupils, who provided energetic and spirited support, enhancing the overall production with their vibrant presence.
Mr Lee, Head at St Francis, was full of praise for the pupils, stating, "Our students' talent and dedication were truly impressive. They captivated us with their creativity and teamwork, making this production a memorable event for everyone involved."
Of course, talented as our pupils are, our staff play a huge role in bringing together such a spectacular performance! Mrs Francis, Director of Music, played a crucial role in guiding the musical aspects of the performance. "The students' musical abilities have grown tremendously over the past months. Their hard work and passion for music were evident in every song. I couldn't be prouder of their achievements," she commented.
Similarly, Mrs Bracken, Head of Drama, was instrumental in bringing the story to life on stage. She remarked, "Seeing the students embody their characters with such confidence and flair was incredibly rewarding. Their commitment to their roles and the enthusiasm they brought to rehearsals were key to the success of this production. They truly brought the magic of Sherwood Forest to our stage."
The evening was a resounding success, showcasing not only the incredible talent of St Francis School's pupils but also the supportive and nurturing environment that allows them to thrive. The production of Hoodwinked will be remembered fondly by all who attended, a shining example of the school's vibrant arts program and the collaborative spirit of its community.
